What is a tier 1 NPS account?

Tier 1 NPS Account is one of the two offerings issued by the NPS investment product. 

It is a non withdraw-able retirement account which can be withdrawn only upon meeting the exit conditions as issued under NPS guidelines. Tax savings benefit can be availed only under Tier 1 NPS Account.
